CFD’s Y-Fire Intervention Unit Recognized by FEMA

U.S. Fire Administration/Federal Emergency Management Agency informed the Champaign Fire Prevention Division that its youthful fire setting intervention program will be one of five in the nation highlighted during a FEMA campaign to bring focus to youth-set fires during Arson Awareness Week in May 2012. Taste of Town – February 24

6:30-9:30 PM at the I-Hotel and Conference Center An evening of live music food and wine tasting, People’s Choice Food Awards, exhibits from local art and boutique vendors, raffles and silent auction prizes to benefit the non-profit Fire and Police Memorial in West Side Park to honor our community’s fallen heroes.

City Staff EOC Table Top Exercise – February 15

The primary purpose of this Emergency Operation Exercise is to familiarize City staff with the Champaign County Emergency Operations Center. The secondary purpose is to demonstrate an incident briefing with policy questions the RECG would address and resource and logistical needs that city staff working the EOC would work to accomplish.
