Champaign Police Officer Ben Newell conducted a “Basic Safety” Presentation to Mrs. Geis’ kindergarten class at Westview School on April 11, 2013. Officer Newell’s presentation focused on gun safety and stranger/danger. He also gave the kids a tour of his squad car.

Beginning March 29, 2013, representatives from the Center for Women in Transition will be attending Roll Call Briefings at the Police Department. They will explain the Center’s services and how they can assist victims of domestic violence.

On March 21, 2013, Officer Bruce Ramseyer gave a presentation to approximately 60 members at a meeting of the Central Illinois Rental Property Professionals. Officer Ramseyer provided safety tips for employees who enter apartments and have contact with tenants.
