I arrived in Champaign fresh out of high school to attend the University of Illinois in 1972. I attended the University of Illinois as an undergraduate, as well as attending the University of Illinois College of Law.
After graduation, I entered into a private practice where I have worked ever since and now currently work with my son, Anthony Bruno. Our law practice, Bruno Law Offices, is concentrated on the trial of serious criminal cases in the state and federal courts, as well as an appellate practice. I am a proud member of the World Famous Lawn Rangers of Amazing Arcola and marched with them in parades all over the United States, including the 2009 Presidential Inaugural Parade.
I currently live in an old Champaign house with my wife, Beth. We have three adult children, all of whom still reside in Champaign. I love to travel and some of my previous trips have led me to China, Cuba, and Turkey, along with several other European countries. I was originally appointed to fill an at-large City Council vacancy in 1997 and I have been reelected on five occasions since then.
