Fire Suppression Services

Champaign Fire Department (CFD) responds to over 5000 requests for assistance each year. Approximately 55% of calls each year are to provide Emergency Medical Services. All personnel are trained to at least the State of Illinois Emergency Medical Technician-B level. All apparatus carry a full complement of BLS equipment and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

20% of calls are false alarms. This continues to be a problem in the community. Pull a fire alarm or activate a smoke detector or sprinkler head ONLY in the event of an actual emergency. These false alarms put the community at a greater risk.
