The mission of the Information Technologies Department is to develop and use information technology resources to provide quality services to our citizens and staff.
The Information Technologies Department maintains information technology systems, develops citywide standards and procedures, and provides technology training and support for City staff. The department provides strategic planning and central procurement for information technology products and services. The department is also responsible for multimedia systems in the City Council Chambers. The department also supports and maintains existing technology used by the City and staff.
The department leads efforts with private, public, and non-for-profit organizations to foster the growth of local technology related businesses. The department directs City efforts to comply with legislation and other mandates concerning telecommunication and technology and takes a leadership role in regulation and use of telecommunication in the City’s rights-of-way.
