The Community Services unit coordinates the outreach efforts of the Police Department by accommodating citizen’s requests for tours, presentations and educational programs. These programs consist of a variety of crime prevention topics, including personal safety, residential security, business security, neighborhood safety, retail theft prevention, police work and more. Two programs we are particularly proud of are the Citizens Police Academy and the Youth Police Academy.
The Assistant to the Chief of Police for Community Services is the liaison between the Police Department and the community for outreach activities. Additional emphasis is focused in the areas of recruitment and media relations.
