Academic Year Permits

Permit Request List

The Permit Request List for 2012-2013 Academic Year permits is now open. If you do not currently have a City of Champaign parking permit, you must sign up on the list to purchase a permit. To sign up, go to the Online Parking Services Page and select Sign-up for the Permit Request List. Customers will be notified when they are eligible to purchase a permit. New permit sales will begin in May.

Permit Request List Policies

Placement on the Permit Request List does not guarantee you a parking space
Sub-leasing a permit is not allowed; permit cannot be sold or passed down to another individual. Violators risk having their permit revoked.
You will be notified via the email or mailing address you provide to the Parking Programs Office when you are eligible to purchase a permit. If you fail to purchase the permit by the deadline, you will be required to resubmit your name to the Permit Request List.

Permit Residency Requirement:

Sales of 2012-2013 Academic Year On-Street permits are limited residents of the University District. Proof of residency is required. Non-residents may purchase permits in City lots or the Parkettes.

Currently, there is NO residency requirement for 2011-2012 Academic Year on-street parking permits.

New Permit Sales:

2011 – 2012 Academic Year (Valid August 19, 2011 – May 13, 2012):

Permit sales are open on a first-come, first-served basis on the Online Parking Services Page. Permits may also be purchased at the Parking Programs Office from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please bring the following with you when purchasing a permit at the Parking Office:

• Photo ID
• Vehicle Registration Card for each vehicle that will be on the permit agreement
• Payment: Cash, Check, Credit or Debit (VISA, MasterCard & Discover), Money Order accepted.

2012-2013 Academic Year (Valid August 17, 2012 – May 17, 2013)

Current Academic Year permit holders have until April 13. 2012 to renew their permit. See Permit Renewals below.

2012-2013 permit sales to new customers will open in May. Customers must submit their name to the Permit Request List in order to be eligible to purchase a permit. See Permit Request List at the top of this page.

Permit Renewals:

2011-2012 Academic Year permit holders: Your renewal deadline is April 13, 2012. Beginning in March, go to Online Parking Services Page and select Renew Permit.

If you need to relocate, renew your permit and check the “Request Relocation” box on the application.

Permit Rates:

Permit rates vary according to location. See the Parking Maps page for more information. Note: Permit rates are subject to change.

Permits are sold for the entire academic year and payment in full is required at the time of purchase. We do not offer Fall or Spring semester only permits; however, permits may be returned for a refund of the unused portion less a 10% administrative fee.
