The City of Champaign will continue implementation of the Bicycle Vision Plan in Summer 2010. Per the Bicycle Vision Plan, the City proposes to install bike lanes on State Street from Bradley Avenue to Hessel Boulevard and on Randolph Street from Bradley Avenue to Hessel Boulevard.

State Street Changes

To implement the bike lanes, the on-street parking will need to be removed in the following blocks:

  • State Street – on the west side from University Avenue to Springfield Avenue
  • State Street – on the west side from Charles Road to Hessel Boulevard

Parking on the east side of State Street will remain unchanged.

Randolph Street Changes

Parking on Randolph Street will remain unchanged.

Public Invitation

The public is invited to attend an open house hosted by the City of Champaign to learn about parking impacts and bike lane design. Exhibits will be available at the meeting for the public to view. The exhibits will detail the bike lane design and parking changes. At the open house, City staff will be on-hand to answer questions and receive comments on the proposed design and parking changes.
