East Side Streetscape

As part of the City’s East Side Streetscape Project, Cross Construction will begin construction, weather permitting, on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at the following location:

First Street from the Boneyard Corridor to Logan Street

This work involves replacement of the existing curbs, sidewalks and drive approaches, installation of street lighting and a green parkway. The first area to be constructed will be the west side of First Street between Logan Street and Willow Street. The completion date for the entire project will be the end of October, 2009.

Please do not park on the street near the construction site or in areas that are posted “No Parking.” Please proceed cautiously through construction zones and use alternate routes whenever possible. The contractor will attempt to complete construction activities as soon as possible to minimize any inconvenience to the residents in the area of construction.

The City of Champaign would like to thank you for your cooperation and patience during the remainder of this construction season.
