Tenant-Based Rent Assistance Program
Using City of Champaign HOME funds, Champaign County Regional Planning Commission is offering a limited number of slots for homeless or low-income households to enroll in a program to significantly improve household self-sufficiency within 2 years.
- Preference is given to applicants who live or work in the City of Champaign, or are homeless, or are near homeless living with a relative or friend.
- Household income must be under 60% of area median income ($27,400 for single or $39,100 for family of 4).
- Participants must be willing to work with case managers to successfully develop and implement goals that may include steps to manage a budget, repair credit, complete educational classes, improve employment, or other activities to improve self-sufficiency.
Rent assistance will be used as one tool to support households working toward their goals.
