Kirby Avenue Lane Closure (between Oak Street and Neil Street)

In order to repair storm sewer, A&R Services and the University of Illinois will close one westbound lane of Kirby Avenue between Oak Street and Neil Street.  The closure will begin on Monday, November 13 and will reopen on Friday, November 17, 2023.  Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in the area.


Prospect Avenue Lane Closure (between Haines Boulevard and Hessel Boulevard)

In order to complete pavement patching, Illinois American Water and Shaw Brothers will close one southbound lane of Prospect Avenue between Haines Boulevard and Hessel Boulevard.  The closure will begin on Monday, November 13 and will reopen by Friday, November 17, 2023.  Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane in the area.


Certified Welcoming Award

On November 7, 2023, the City of Champaign hosted a reception to celebrate that it had been recognized as a Certified Welcoming place by Welcoming America, becoming the only municipality in Illinois to achieve this distinction. In order to complete pavement patching, Western Utility and AT&T will close one northbound lane of Walnut Street between Marshall Street and Logan Street.  The closure will begin on Wednesday, November 8 and will reopen on Thursday, November 9, 2023.  During the closure, northbound traffic will be reduced to one lane.
